Introduction

I know that some (maybe most) of you come to a point in your life where you’re thinking, “I just don’t know what I’m doing anymore” or “I wish I could just be happy with my life”. Well, I’m right there with you. My name is Jilly, and I am here to let you know that you are not alone. I, like everyone else, have curves in the road and I would like to share them with you.img_2676

Lets start with my background. I was born and raised on a small island in Hawaii called Kauai. I know most of you are thinking, “Oh, Hawaii, how tough could that be?!” Believe me when I say, every place has its advantages and drawbacks. Just because a place looks great on paper, does not mean that life is always easy and perfect.

img_0187I moved to “the mainland” in late 2014 to get a fresh start and brought my mother, husband and 3 little dogs with me. Sadly, I had to leave my father along with some of my cherished family members and close friends behind to start this new and exciting journey. I admit, I found it quite challenging while attempting to adapt to a new area and culture, so to speak. I am the baby of the family and have 2 elder brothers (the oldest being my half brother). I am a bit overweight and have some blood pressure and cholesterol problems that need to be addressed and I will be actively working on it (though not always good at it) through this journey. I struggle with Anxiety-depression and sometimes I find it difficult to be productive, feel motivated or find the “happy” in each day, but that doesn’t stop me from trying! Life keeps going and sh*t still has to get done.

whew! That was a lot of words and not much story! I apologize, I tend to get carried away sometimes. The point  is, we may all come from different backgrounds but we all go through a lot of the same things and share many of the same emotions in our lives like anger, sadness and disappointment but also things like friendship, happiness and thankfulness. I want to take you with me on a journey through some of these “adventures”. Hopefully, we can learn to appreciate the little things so that they can grow into bigger, better things in the future.
